Use your cadence
Count one minute after settling into a natural rhythm. Repeat the count later and average the results. For a 35-minute session at 96 steps per minute, the estimate is 3,360 steps.
Why belt speed is not enough
Two people can cover the same belt distance with different stride lengths and cadences. Incline, height, gait, handrail use, interruptions, and the machine’s displayed calibration add more variation. Converting miles or speed to one exact step number creates false precision.
Why your phone may disagree
A phone left on the desk may record few or no steps while you walk beneath it. A phone in a pocket, watch, ring, and the walking pad itself use different sensors and algorithms. Pick the device that matters for your goal and test where it must be worn.
For WalkTeaming
WalkTeaming uses recorded steps and 2,337 is the game’s daily qualification threshold. It is not a health prescription. Confirm that your Android setup records indoor steps before relying on a desk session to qualify.
Keep the estimate honest
Subtract stopped time. Recount when speed changes. Treat the result as an estimate unless your chosen device supplies the actual total you intend to use.
Make the backup route matter
Walk More! You can do it!
WalkTeaming is a walking game for iPhone and Android. On any day you reach 2,337 steps, that day can qualify as your score. Your best qualifying day of the week goes onto a five-walker team, and the app supplies both your team and a matched opponent.
You do not recruit teammates or share a schedule. Use the button to choose iPhone or Android and see the current installation options.
