Most Deebot models don’t display numeric error codes on the robot itself — they communicate problems through beep patterns, a flashing or solid-red button light, and voice or app alerts instead. Here’s what those actually mean.
Reading the Light Indicator
- Flashing blue: the robot is charging normally.
- Solid blue: the robot is actively cleaning.
- Solid red: low battery — this is a status, not necessarily a fault. Get it back to the dock.
- Flashing red: an actual problem the robot can’t resolve on its own — this is the one worth investigating further below.
Reading the Beep Pattern
When the button is flashing red, the number of beeps narrows down the actual problem:
- One beep: the robot is suspended or physically stuck. Place it on a flat, even surface, clear any obstacle it’s wedged against, and restart it.
- Two beeps: an anti-collision bumper malfunction — the front bumper sensor isn’t responding correctly, often from debris lodged behind it.

- Side brush error: the side brush motor has stalled or the brush itself is damaged or jammed.
- Wheel or drive error: a drive wheel can’t turn, typically from hair or thread wound tightly around the wheel axle. Flip the robot over and inspect both wheels directly.
The First Fix to Try, Almost Always
For the large majority of error states, a simple power cycle is the correct first step — turn the robot off using its physical power switch (or hold the reset button until you hear the startup tone), wait several seconds, then power it back on. This clears a meaningful share of transient sensor and software errors without needing to open the unit up at all. If the error persists after a power cycle, that’s the point to move on to physically inspecting the specific component the beep pattern points to.
When the App Shows a Different Message Than the Beeps Suggest
The Ecovacs Home app surfaces more specific error text than the robot’s beep pattern alone can communicate, and it’s worth checking any time the physical error is ambiguous.
